Caesars Windsor Casino Shows
On his first visit to the local casino on Oct. 17, 2013, he arrived in the afternoon with a $55,000 bank draft and was given the red carpet treatment, complete with escort by a Caesars Windsor. Despite Windsor-Essex having moved into Stage 3 on Aug. 12, the casino chose to wait before reopening. Caesars Windsor typically holds 10,000 people and employs more than 2,000 people in the region. The Windsor-Essex region’s biggest gaming and entertainment centre continues to work on its reopening plans, pledging collaboration with the OLG, the AGCO, and Unifor Local 444.
But the provincial government has yet to announce any date when such facilities can welcome customers again.
In the meantime, Caesars Windsor director of advertising Scott Jenkins said construction crews have resumed renovation work, as permitted under the Ontario government’s Stage 1 reopening plan.
Hotel rooms are being updated, and enhancements are underway at the casino’s restaurants.

Due to the province’s orders against large gatherings to prevent the spread of COVID-19, many concert events have been postponed, and some have been outright cancelled.

Performers whose shows are hoped to find new dates later in 2020 or early 2021 include: Bill Burr, Sebastian Maniscalco, Pitbull, Shinedown, Jason Bonham, REO Speedwagon, Schitt’s Creek, Randy Bachman with Burton Cummings, and Loverboy with George Thorogood & The Destroyers.
“We continue to closely monitor and follow government guidelines and look forward to restarting our Colosseum show programming when it is safe to do so,” wrote Jenkins.

Tickets purchased at the casino’s box office must be refunded in person when the box office reopens.

With the entertainment and gaming complex closed since spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, scheduled shows at the signature venue had to be cancelled or postponed. The casino released an updated schedule of displaced acts this week.
Despite Ontario’s Stage Three reopening allowing gaming halls to reopen with up to 50 people on the premises at once, Caesars Windsor remains closed until further notice.
“The Colosseum remains temporarily closed at this time. We continue to closely monitor and follow the government guidelines and look forward to restarting our Colosseum show programming with a commitment to providing a comfortable environment for our guests,” Caesars said in a release. “In the meantime, we are working diligently with the artists’ agencies to confirm new dates into 2021. We would like to thank our guests for their understanding and patience as we work through these challenging circumstances together.”
The following shows have confirmed new dates for 2021.
- Pitbull – March 28
- Sebastian Maniscalco – May 19-21 for a total of three shows
- REO Speedwagon – June 4
- Schitt’s Creek – June 27
- Bachman Cummings – July 25
- Shinedown – August 7
The acts Ice Cube, Bill Burr, Jason Derulo, and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons have yet to schedule new dates in 2021.
The shows scheduled during the pandemic that have been cancelled include Tony Bennett, Kesha, Loverboy and George Thorogood, the Steve Miller Band, Styx, and Tash Sultana.
Previously purchased tickets for these shows are valid and will be honoured on the new show dates, according to Caesars Windsor.
Refunds for postponed shows are available on request from the point of purchase, but once a postponed show has been rescheduled, concertgoers will have 30 days to ask for a refund. If you have already requested a refund and it has been completed and processed through Ticketmaster, your previously purchased ticket is now null and void.
If you purchased your tickets through the box office, keep checking with the official Caesars Windsor website for updates. The box office will not reopen right away once the go-ahead to open the casino is given.
