Finally, we headed back to where it all began, Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham for MILLIONS UK. Anton Suarez qualified from a satellite and was crowned our winner at the end of the 4 Day event.
Anton Suarez has won the 2020 partypoker MILLIONS UK $10,300 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event, defeating a field of 530 total entrants to win his first major live tournament title for $1,000,000.
“I don’t play many tournaments, so I’m super happy,” Suarez told Poker Central live reporters after winning the event.
Suarez has been a poker pro for over ten years, but primarily battles it out in pot-limit Omaha cash games. The resident of Sweden made his way to the Dusk Till Dawn Poker & Casino in Nottingham, England to get in on the cash game action during the bust tournament series. He decided to take a shot in a $500 buy-in satellite for the main event and managed to win a seat. He turned that $500 into his first-ever seven-figure payday. His largest prior recorded tournament finish was for $103,297, when he placed fifth in a €10,300 pot-limit Omaha event at the European Poker Tour Barcelona series in August of 2019.
In addition to the title and the money, Suarez also earned 2,100 Card Player Player of the Year points for the win. That massive sum was enough to see him take the outright lead in the early POY race standings and should keep him among the top contenders for months to come.
Suarez came into the final day of this event in the middle of the pack, sitting in sixth chip position with 12 players remaining. By the time the official eight-handed final table was set, he had chipped up to second place behind Germany’s Christian Rudolph.
Former MILLIONS UK main event winner Maria Lampropoulos fell just short of winning this event for the second time, placing eighth when her A-Q failed to beat out the pocket nines of Jack Hardcastle. She earned $100,000 for her latest deep run in this event.

Christian Rudolph added to his lead by knocking out Jack Hardcastle (7th – $130,000) and Weijie Zheng (6th – $170,000). He looked to be running away with the final table, but a flush-over-flush cooler brought him crashing back down to earth. He flopped top pair with 98 and ended up with a flush on a 9426Q board. he check-called a sizable bet on the river from Suarez, only to find that his opponent had made a higher flush with KJ. Suarez surged into the top spot with 242 million in chips after the hand, while Rudolph fell to 95.3 million in chips.
Suarez then went on a knockout spree, busting Fredrik Andersson (5th – $230,000), James “Raggy” Clarke (4th – $311,000) and James Romero (3rd – $420,000) to take a 276 million to 252 million lead over Rudolph heading into heads-up play. Suarez was able to pull out to a quick lead, but Rudolph doubled with A-10 against Suarez’s K-Q to close the gap somewhat. From there he was able to fight his way into the lead, only to have Suarez double up and regain the advantage.
By the time te final hand was dealt, Suarez held more than a 3.5:1 lead. Rudulph got the last of his chips in with 74, shoving after Suarez had limped in from the button with A8. Suarez made the call and the board came down K92A9. Suarez made aces and nines to secure the pot and the title, while Rudolph settled for $620,000 as the runner-up finisher.
